Rick spent six years in the Air Force and received formal training in electronics. After that, he spent five years as a service technician for a major corporation in the Washington, D.C. area. He was responsible for the security system at the U.S. Treasury, energy management at-the National Archives and the computer controlled fire monitoring system at Children's Hospital, just to name a few. Since moving to Florida, Rick has worked for two local electrical companies. While working days and studying nights, he prepared himself for the contractors exam. After becoming licensed, he began making preparations to begin his own company. The name, Generous Electric, arose from Rick's desire to provide more quality service than a customer would expect. To come up with a phone ad and business card design, he held a family contest. The telephone poles were contributed by Harris, the van by Elizabeth, and the lightning bolt in place of the "i" in "Electric" by Dan. Generous Electric made its grand debut last May and since that time has grown from one employee to three. The company is capable of handling all commercial and residential electrical needs. Its main objective is to solve their customer's problems and make sure that they are completely satisfied with the work mat has been done. It is Generous Electric's goal to contact each business and home in College Park and become their own personal electrical company.
